" That's What I Like About the South" I've worked as deep in downtown Detroit as you can get and also lived as far out as Woodbury, TX. I was raised in south Grand Prairie, TX, on what was then called Mason Hayes, Belt line, or 8th st. Back then we were WAY out of town. I perfer oak trees and sandy land to mesquite, pecan and black or "cotton" land {which came with plenty of scorpions}. I remember back when I was a kid for instance...If there was not enough chairs to go around the kitchen table because we had company at mealtime, my mother would put the ironing board across two chairs and seat the kids there.
