I am a country boy I was raised on a farm in Richmond Mi. I lived on Bartel Rd. I remember walking through snow drifts up to my waist, school was never canceled. Took care of 80 head of cattle, 20 horses,300 chickens (I enjoyed ringing their necks)had to empty their trays, carry water, 2 five gallon buckets was just enough to water them, collect eggs, all before I walked the 7 tenths of a mile to the bus stop in the morning. Winter was the worst. Believe it or not I look back fondly on these memories.
