Naberadical, 72

I love fresh air, open spaces and rural life. I'm passionate about the country because I have always loved the outdoors and nature. My favorite times growing up were exploring, camping, and spending time in a cabin at Pt. reyes, not part of the Pt. reyes National seashore. Today i live in the Central Sierra foothills on a fairly undeveloped section of land lnot too far from towns (12 miles or so to any of three of the closest) and about a mile from the nearest human being. My immediate neighbors are the wild animals, and my roommates at this point are all four-legged. Most of my visitors are too, I have been adopted by a number of dogs and other domestic animals, and get horses, donkeys and burros, and more cattle than I care to think about as relatively short=term visitors. A lot of anilas live up here, some of my favorites are foxes and many many birds, and deer. I get occasional 'herds' of wild turkey, they seem to be somehow much more than a flock! I never see coyotes but I hear them at night. I have lost many animals to mountain lions. There was one that would grab a wayward pygmy goat and not even drag it but carry it off without its even touching the ground. We eventually called the county and they had trackers track it down. It was a very large mountain lion, and well fed...
